The Terry Kelly-trained Foundry has been scratched from Saturday's All-Star Mile after failing to pass a vet examination on Friday morning.

Foundry's scratching means that multiple G1-winner Le Romain gains a start, with the Lees-trained galloper set to jump from barrier one with Dwayne Dunn in the saddle.

Foundry worked in front of vets on Thursday and was scratchy in his action. He failed to show the necessary improvement when inspected again around 24 hours later.

Fellow outsiders Urban Ruler and Material Man are also in doubt after showing signs of discomfort on Thursday.

Foundry, a winner of the G1 Metropolitan (2400m) back in 2017, has not raced since finishing third in the Bendigo Cup (2400m) some 500-odd days ago.
